Your website may send emails. For example when a visitor to your website completes a form, the details may be emailed to you.

When the web site sends this type of email it uses a dedicated tool that helps to ensure the email arrives in your inbox promptly & does not get lost.  This means that emails are less likely to be caught by spam filters or, if there is a problem, we can retrieve the emails for you.

How this affects you

Apart from providing a very reliable email solution and a backup if the email’s get lost in their journey over the internet, this also means:

  • Emails you receive via the website will come from "forms@eighty-days.com"

  • The "reply to" address is usually the enquirer's email (ie the email they enter in the form)

  • However, if you do click reply, then you may need to remove "forms@eighty-days.com" from the email body (this depends on your email software)

Using your domain as the “from” address?

It is possible to use a different from email address (eg website@hotel.com).  However this requires extra configuration, including some DNS records to your domain (to reduce spam issues).

This may be useful if you want to avoid having to manually remove “forms@eighty-days.com” from the email body when replying. Please contact us for details.

If your site sends emails directly to users then we will discuss the options during your website implementation.

Using their email as the “from” address?

We do not do this.  Sending email that pretends it is from someone else is one of the definitions of spam! Plus, if there is a typo in the email entered by the web site visitor the email may never be delivered.

Instead we can set the “reply” address to the enquirer’s email address (see above).
